1. After the cutting machine is installed, connect the power and check if all parts of the machine rotate flexibly and if all fasteners are loose.

2. Connect the power and press the main unit button. Check if the blade rotation direction is consistent with the arrow direction. If it is reversed, adjust immediately. After checking, you can clamp the rock sample for cutting. When clamping the rock sample, select a reliable clamping point to prevent false clamping or mis-clamping. This will prevent damage to the tool and rock sample due to rock movement during the cutting process.

3. When clamping irregular rocks, the top-pressure clamping method can be used. Clamping steps: First, place the rock sample 8 flat on the worktable. Then, insert the top-pressure moving clamp 10 along the T-slot 3. Select the distance between the clamp and the rock sample, tighten the clamp base screw, move the top rod bolt 13 up and down to select a reliable clamping point, then tighten the top rod moving nut 11. Next, rotate the top rod until it locks the rock sample in place. At the same time, tighten the top rod nut 12 to prevent the top rod from loosening during the cutting process.

4. When cutting core samples, if there are many rocks, several rock samples can be pressed down with the provided long pressure plate and cut together to improve work efficiency. The clamping method is as follows: Place the rock sample 8 flat on the worktable 6, insert the pressure plate bolt along the T-slot 3, insert one end of the long pressure plate 9 into the square hole on the vertical surface of the worktable, and rotate the adjusting screw 7 and the nut 10 of the pressure plate bolt to tighten the rock sample. If the core sample diameter has a slight error, a thin wooden board can be added on top of the rock sample so that the long pressure plate can press down on the rock sample. This method should also be used when clamping and cutting rectangular and cubic rock samples.

5. When working, first start the main motor, then press the feed button. When cutting begins, since the rocks are often irregularly shaped, the feed speed should be slow at this time. Only after the blade has fully entered the rock sample can the feed speed be increased slightly.

6. The cutting machine has automatic feed and retraction. When the cutter reaches the end of the worktable, it will automatically retract to the beginning and stop moving automatically. If you need to move backward during operation, press the fast rewind button on the control panel. To move forward during fast rewind, press the feed button. Whether moving forward or backward, pressing the stop button will stop the cutter's movement. If the cutter is too far from the rock sample during operation, press and hold the fast forward button or use jog fast forward until the blade approaches the sample, then release the button. Then press the feed button again to resume normal cutting. This will shorten the feed time.

7. When cutting the specimen, adjust the feed speed according to the rock hardness before starting work. Adjusting the feed speed during cutting may cause tool marks. Based on experience, when cutting harder rocks, the speed is generally around 40 mm/min.
